The qualified width is the distance from the back of the tool to the cutting tip of the insert.

These tools are used for turning and profiling using VNMG inserts providing a strong negative rake and are suitalbe finishing to roughing applications with low cost per edge.

T Top clamp tools have a spring loaded top clamp which pulls the insert in to the pocket when tightened, the seat is held firmly with a centre screw.

This type of clamping mechanism is very secure with high accuracy indexing, made from high quality tool steel.
